Dia Janae is a singer, actress, musician, dancer, wife, and now mom! She grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma and continues to stay local while living with her husband and brand new baby boy in Yukon, Oklahoma. She is currently a stay-at-home mom and enjoying the time with her baby boy.
She was first introduced to music at a very young age. Her father is a music minister and has been her whole life, so she was constantly around music. She was always in choirs ever since she could remember. She found a love for performing on stage in when she had a small role in a children's choir musical at her church. She then found a love for instrumental music in 6th grade in band class where she started on clarinet then switching to oboe. She also played saxophone in numerous jazz bands. She received numerous superior awards for her solo and ensemble work in both instrumental and vocal. While in high school, she was apart of the Mustang High School Varsity Choir and was a three-year member of the Oklahoma Music Educator's Association Honor Chorus.
She really fell in love with music theatre during her sophomore year of high school when she was cast as Nancy in the musical Oliver! That was when she decided that she wanted to perform in musicals for the rest of her life.
She graduated from Mustang High School and went to Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa to pursue an Associates in Music Theatre. While at NOC, she played 11 lead roles and had numerous solos in many concerts. She was also a member of the World Traveling Roustabouts where she also had many solos. There, she studied voice with Shannon Bradford.
She graduated from Northern Oklahoma College and decided to pursue her Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma where she has had the privilege to play multiple roles and been able to sing for many stars such as John Bucchino, Franc D'Ambrosio, Jodi Benson, and many more. At the University of Central Oklahoma, she has taken voice with Dalycia Phipps and world-reknown opera diva, Dr Barbara DeMaio.
